FAQ

Your questions,
answered.

Everything you might be wondering before reaching out — about what I do, how it works, and whether this is right for your family.

A postpartum doula supports your whole family in the weeks after birth — not just the baby. That might look like hands-on newborn care, feeding support, help with older siblings, light household tasks, or simply being a calm, knowledgeable presence while you recover. The goal is to make sure you feel cared for, not just your baby.

A night nurse (or newborn care specialist) typically focuses on the baby — sleep training, feeding schedules, and infant care. A postpartum doula focuses on the whole family. I'm there to support your recovery, your confidence, and your transition into parenthood, which includes but goes well beyond the baby.

Ideally before your baby arrives — many families book during the second trimester so support is already in place for those early weeks. That said, it's never too late. If you're already postpartum and realizing you need more help, reach out. We can usually find something that works.

Completely. Whether you're breastfeeding, chestfeeding, using formula, combination feeding, or somewhere in between — I support your choice without judgment. My feeding support is practical help, not pressure.

I serve Montréal, the South Shore, and the North Shore. If you're unsure whether your area is covered, just ask — I'm happy to check. Virtual consultations are available everywhere.

You can absolutely book a single visit. There's no minimum commitment. Packages exist for families who want consistent, ongoing support — but if you just need a few hours of help, that works too.

Sundown Support is evening and overnight care — typically from around 5pm to midnight or later. It's designed for the witching hour, when babies are often fussiest and parents are most depleted. I take over so you can eat, rest, or just breathe.

A lactation consultant (IBCLC) is a credentialed clinical specialist — they diagnose latch issues, tongue ties, supply problems, and more. My feeding support is practical, hands-on, and educational: positioning, paced bottle feeding, reading feeding cues, building confidence. If something is outside my scope, I'll tell you, and I'll refer you to the right person.

Virtual consultations happen over video call and are a great option if you're outside my in-person coverage area, or if you want to connect before deciding on a package. We can cover postpartum preparation, newborn care questions, feeding, infant sleep basics, or whatever you need.

I'll tell you, and I'll point you in the right direction. I maintain referral relationships with lactation consultants, pelvic floor physiotherapists, mental health professionals, and other perinatal care providers in the Montréal area. Knowing when to refer is part of the job.
